Alexa is officially coming to HTCU11 next Monday
The latest Edge Sense update on the Play Store claims that it brings Alexa support to the HTC U11. While you’ll see the option on your phone, it won’t officially work until next Monday, July 17.
When the struggling Taiwanese electronics company unveiled its flagship a few months ago, there were a few features that stood out immediately: a brand-new design, a squeezable frame that acts as an app shortcut, and of course, Amazon’s Alexa as one of the three assistants available. Well, the third feature was left out at the time of launch for some reason, but the good news is that it’s finally here.
Starting this coming Monday, July 17, you will be able to summon Alexa on your HTCU11 in addition to HTCCompanion and Google Assistant.
Starting this coming Monday, July 17, you will be able to summon Alexa on your HTCU11 in addition to HTCCompanion and Google Assistant. The Edge Sense app has already been updated in the Play Store to reflect this, and in fact, if you’ve installed the latest update, you will now see “Launch HTCAlexa” as an option under Edge Sense Settings. Again, it’s there but won’t actually work until Monday.
The new Edge Sense update also brings an improved squeeze feedback animation, making it clearer that you’ve actually activated your shortcut. For those of you with the HTCU11, you can click the link below to get the latest version of Edge Sense from the Play Store:
