ASUS CES teaser reveals a new phone with an unusual camera
‘Tis the season for companies to begin building anticipation for next year’s CES. Sony revealed a video just a few days ago and now Asus has released its own teasers, in the form of two short video clips for an upcoming smartphone.
The slogan “see what others can’t see” is pretty ambiguous. There is definitely a photography focus with ASUS’ next smartphone, although it’s tough to tell exactly what the company has planned. The first video flashes a glimpse of a dual-camera setup, although the back of the phone only shows enough space for a single camera module, with the flash located above it. Instead, this looks like a post processing effect, perhaps suggesting that ASUS has some new camera software features lined up? Either that, or the company has some interesting new camera hardware to demo next month.
Time for the second video.
This one doesn’t give us much more information, but form and build seems to be of some importance. Although it is hard to think of a time when a company doesn’t bring this up. We can also catch another glimpse at the back of the smartphone, which seems to feature rear buttons, or perhaps a fingerprint scanner given the “touch” reference in the video, that look somewhat similar to the design found on the LG G3.
You can join ASUS for a live stream of its CES launch event through its Youtube and Facebook pages on January 5th at 11:00 am (7:00 pm GMT). What information can you glean from ASUS’ teaser?
