In an official blog post, Google announced that Chrome 56 for Android devices has been released and should make its way to the Google Play Store over the course of the next week. The new version of the browser brings a few new features to the table that will improve the user experience.

The update adds a new tab page with easy access to downloaded files and saved web pages and allows you to long press an article suggestion to download it to your device for offline use. Touch to Search has also been slightly revised to provide quicker access to search results. In addition to the new features mentioned, the release also contains performance and stability fixes, which should make the browser run smoother.

Chrome 56 also lets you quickly use emails, addresses as well as phone numbers in web pages simply by tapping on them. The update also delivers the new reload behavior teased a week ago, which refreshes pages 28 percent faster while using less power and bandwidth.
