Coolpad Max launched in India, supports two WhatsApp accounts
Coolpad has today launched its latest flagship smartphone in India, the Coolpad Max, with an attractive and affordable price tag of Rs. 24,999 ($369.99). Running on the outdated Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with CoolUI 8.0 on top, the Coolpad Max sports a unique dual isolation feature which lets you double up on apps on a single device.
Dual Space is Coolpad’s system which lets you use have two accounts of WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, and other single-account apps on the same phone. The Coolpad Max also sports external and secure internal systems for encryption of calls and texts and offers dual-SIM and dual-standby capabilities on a single phone. By far the most interesting feature is the ability to use two WhatsApp accounts on one phone, which is a feature that’s long been requested of WhatsApp.
Dual-sim aside, the Coolpad Max offers a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display, with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It’s powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage on the Indian variant. Like other dual SIM devices, the secondary SIM slot doubles up as a microSD expansion slot allowing you to expand the storage by up to 64GB.
On the rear, the Coolpad Max boasts a 13MP ISOCELL rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Autofocus and dual-tone LED flash, while the 5MP front snapper boasts f/2.2 aperture. The whole package is powered by a 2800mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support offering 3 hours of talk time with a 5-minute charge. The handset will be available exclusively from Amazon India on May 30, 2016 from 12pm in Rose Gold and Royal Gold colours.
