CREO Mark 1 to get major updates every month
CREO is not an industry-wide name in the smartphone game. The Indian company, which is best known for creating the Chromecast competitor Tewee, is angling to launch their first handset later this year. Their device, the Mark 1, isn’t aiming to be a high-end flagship device. Rather, the company is focusing on making their smartphone the most adaptable handset on the market today.
CREO has committed themselves to the task of bringing one “breakthrough” feature to the Mark 1 literally every month. They plan to draw ideas for these updates from their userbase and roll them out on monthly updates. It’s an interesting angle that hopes to keep the device fresh and relevant on the ever-changing tide of the Android ecosystem.
The Mark 1 will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, and it rocks a metallic case with a glass front and back. We don’t have specific specs on the device yet, but CREO’s promise of “a new phone, every month” is certainly an alluring claim. It is yet to be seen whether this plan will be effective once it’s put into action, but you can bet that we’re watching with curiosity and interest.
What do you think of the CREO Mark 1 and its promise of monthly “breakthrough” updates? Will this focus on software rather than hardware make it an attractive option in India, or are they overplaying their hand? Let us know your predictions in the comments below!
