A usual game of Dungeons & Dragons requires a good ol’ fashioned pencil and paper, but that’s changing soon. Wizards of the Coast has officially announced the development of D&D Beyond, a new digital toolset to be used with Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition.

Most seasoned Dungeons & Dragons players probably aren’t tired of managing inventory and character lists on paper, but D&D Beyond is there if you’d rather go the digital route. Basically, this is an all-in-one solution to your game management needs. Built in partnership with Curse, D&D Beyond will provide players and Dungeon Masters with a rules compendium, character builder, digital character sheets, in-depth item listings and more.

If D&D Beyond sounds familiar to you, that’s because Wizards and Trapdoor Technologies launched a beta version of a game management tool called DungeonScape alongside Fifth Edition in early October 2014. Apparently there were a few too many kinks to work out though, because the project was ultimately scrapped in late October 2014. Soon after that, Trapdoor took to Kickstarter to try to raise enough money to fund the project themselves, though the $425,000 goal was too steep. We’re hoping D&D Beyond won’t suffer the same fate as DungeonScape.

D&D Beyond isn’t ready for primetime quite yet, but the D&D team says more release date details are coming soon. If you’d like to give the beta version a shot once it’s ready, you can add your name to the list at the link below. So, who’s signing up?!
