Google I/O 2016 site is live, registration begins March 8
If you’ve been wondering when registration will be kicking off for Google I/O 2016, you’re in luck — the I/O 2016 website is now live, and it brings us some new and important details. Registration for the developer conference begins next Tuesday, March 8th at 9AM PST, and will remain open until 5PM PST on Thursday, March 10th. Much like recent years, Google will randomly select applicants once the registration period is up. Selected applicants will get an email from Google with more details.
To apply, you’ll need to sign in with a Google account to begin the application. Upon completion, you’ll get a confirmation email soon thereafter. Oh, and if you’re one of the lucky ones that gets selected, you’ll also need a pretty big amount of money to pay for your ticket. General admission tickets cost $900, and academic admission tickets cost “just” $300. You’ll only be able to purchase one ticket if your name gets selected, and you can request a refund until April 29th if your plans change.
Google I/O will take place in its own backyard at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California from Wednesday, May 18th through Friday, May 20th. We’re expecting to see quite a few major announcements at the conference, possibly including Android N, updates to Android Auto, Android Wear, and much, much more.
