Google’s billboard hints at October 4 reveal date for Pixel 2 series
It looks like the Pixel 2 series might be announced on October 4. Droid Life got its hands on an image of Google’s billboard with the tagline “Ask more of your phone” that has been spotted in Boston. It also shows the already mentioned date along with company’s logo — check it out below.
It’s clear that Google will reveal something on October 4, and although the billboard doesn’t specifically mention the Pixel 2 series, it does hint that the two devices will be announced. What’s interesting is that the Pixel and Pixel XL were actually revealed on October 4, 2016, which means their successors might make their debut exactly one year later.
Google hasn’t officially confirmed that it will introduce the new Pixel devices on that date, but we probably won’t have to wait long before that happens. It’s also possible that a few more billboards and other marketing items pop up in the meantime, which Google will use to build some hype before the launch. The company did the same thing last year with a large silhouette of the Pixel device that was spotted in New York City.
So, what exactly can we expect to see from the new Pixel series? According to the latest rumors, Google will announce the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL at the event, which will be quite similar in terms of specs. However, the former will come with a 5-inch display, while the XL version will sport a screen measuring 6-inches.
The two devices will be a bit different from one another in terms of looks, as the larger one will, unlike its smaller brother, have a bezel-less design. To learn more, check out our Google Pixel 2 rumor roundup post.
