Hearthstone expansion and Android version arriving in December
Blizzard Entertainment recently spilled the beans on when fans of Hearthstone (their very popular online collectible trading card game) can expect to see an Android release. Fans of the game that want to get in on the action from their Android device will be pleased to know that December is the target release date for Android tablets, which is also when a new expansion for the game is expected to be rolled out.
The news was announced by Blizzard at the Blizcon 2014 keynote, and is likely to please a lot of fans of the game with Android devices. Android has been a little late arriving to the Hearthstone party, and were left out of the already existing versions for PC, Mac, and the iPad. The release in December is specifically for Android tablets, with a phone version for Android and iOS expected to arrive sometime in January.
The long awaited Android version of the game wasn’t the only good news that the company delivered, as they also announced that a new expansion for the game called Goblins vs Gnomes will also arrive in December, bringing with it more than 120 new cards and a new “Mech” minion.
For those that aren’t familiar with Hearthstone, it’s an online trading card game that’s set in the Warcraft universe. The turn-based matches in the game are operated via Blizzard’s Battle.net, with the game boasting an impressive 20 million+ registered accounts.
