HUAWEI MediaPad M2 10 arrives to Currys in the UK
The HUAWEI MediaPad M2 was first announced back in January at CES 2016, but for those in the UK, the new 10-inch tablet has finally arrived on sale via Currys. While HUAWEI actually showed off two color choices and several different storage configurations at CES, the popular e-tailer seems to only be offering the 16GB silver model at the moment.
Design wise, the MediaPad M2 offers a metallic construction that is in similar vein to what we’ve seen from HUAWEI’s Mate phone series in recent years. The only big difference is found on the front, where there’s a physical home button that integrates a fingerprint scanner, which is in contrast to HUAWEI’s rear-mounted scanners found on its phones. As for what’s under the hood? The MediaPad M2 is powered by a Huawei-made Kirin 930 processor with 2GB RAM.
Other key specs include a 10-inch FHD IPS display, a 13MP rear cam, 5MP front cam, 16GB storage with microSD for expansion, and a 6,600 mAh battery. For those hoping for the “M-Pen” stylus that might have read about when it was first announced, no such luck. Unfortunately that extra is reserved for the gold variant. On the software side of things, HUAWEI is using its highly customized EMUI software, built on top of Android 5.1.
The MediaPad M2 is priced at £249.99, which translates to around $391, a good deal more expensive than what it is priced at in the US. What do you think, anyone planning on picking this one up?
