Did HUAWEI just take a jab at the Galaxy Note 8? Almost certainly

HUAWEI has tweeted a promo picture for its HUAWEI Mate 10 which appears to take a swipe at its rival Samsung's recently unveiled Galaxy Note 8.

Huawei‘s Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu isn’t known for modesty when it comes to the capabilities of HUAWEI hardware. Not content with claiming that the Mate 10 would be “more powerful” than the iPhone 8 in a recent interview, new promotional materials for the Mate 10 suggest that it will outdo the Galaxy Note 8 too.

Though Samsung’s phone is going to be on sale ahead of the Mate 10, which HUAWEI recently confirmed would be unveiled on October 16, HUAWEI has suggested that the Mate 10 could be worth the wait via a tweet sent from its Australian mobile Twitter account.

As you can see in the image, HUAWEI “welcomes” the Note 8 an unspecified device to the dual-camera family, something that the Chinese manufacturer has been making use of since April 2016 with the HUAWEI P9 and P9 Plus. HUAWEI here seems to be prompting the question, if it’s that far ahead of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in the camera tech — where else is it 16 months ahead?

Of course, you could argue that it’s just a coincidence that the promo has landed a day after Samsung’s Note 8 presentation, referencing one of its new features, and using the hashtag #beyondthegalaxy. You could argue that HUAWEI is really just welcoming the Mate 10 to do the dual-camera family. But, you know… no.
