(Update: T-Mobile version too) Marshmallow hitting Verizon HTCOne M8
Update: Marshmallow will roll out to the T-Mobile HTCOne M8 on March 7 as well. Enjoy!
Good news, HTC One M8 owners! If you’re on Verizon, then Android 6.0 Marshmallow is getting pushed out to your device Monday, March 7. According to HTC’s Mo Versi on Twitter, this Over The Air update is slated to begin rolling out just after the weekend, so you might want to set a reminder to check for updates Monday morning. Pretty cool way to start your week off, all considered.
Marshmallow will bring One M8 owners all the joys of Google Now On Tap, which provides search suggestions and additional, contextual information based on the content on your screen at a given time. You’ll also get access to that trove of new Emoji (if you haven’t snagged that Textra upgrade already) and, of course, the granular permissions system that lets you pick and choose which permissions to grant apps as they require them.
Marshmallow’s rollout has been notoriously slow, it’s true, so it’s nice to see it continue to spread. Right now, the vast majority of Android users are still rocking Lollipop or Jellybean, so soon One M8 owners can be as smug as Nexus owners.
