Nexus 5 update causing major volume bugs, get the fix here

When the July 2016 security update rolled out to Nexus 5 devices, users began experiencing an array of volume related bugs. For some, in-call volume adjustment went kaput, others experienced an inability to mute apps, and a few even had all of their phone’s volume sliders drop just to the point of barely being audible.

Owners of the device took to reddit and other online forums and made Android devs aware of the issue. The problem has been acknowledged as a mistake in the code that causes audio memory allocation failure. An official fix is on the way, but in the meantime, the developer Francisco Franco has pushed out a fix for the issue. He claims that it does so without compromising security, but as is the case with all unofficial software, you should use your own discretion when flashing.

If you’re a Nexus 5 owner who hasn’t updated yet, then you definitely shouldn’t grab this fix. In fact, you might want to hold off on updating until an official patch for this volume problem arrives.
