OnePlus 3 allegedly spotted in leaked pics
Back in February OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei announced that the OnePlus 3 would officially debut sometime at the end of the second quarter of 2016, pegging its release for sometimes around June. Now that we are pretty close to that time frame, it’s no surprise to see the amount of leaks related to this device increasing. This time around we have leaked images giving us a solid look at what may be the anticipated next-gen ‘flagship killer’.
To be fair, this isn’t the first time there have been photos leaked purporting to be the OnePlus 3, but we previously ignored covering such rumors due to the photos appearing a bit suspicious — odd looking back, no pics of the screen running, etc. Now we can’t speak for certain on the validity of this latest batch of photos but they certainly look a bit more convincing then anything we’ve seen to date. Of course, we’d still take them with a pitch of salt.
If the images are correct, the new OnePlus 3 ditches its Sandstone Black finish in favor of an all-metal design. Overall the design is more than a little different than its predecessor, though the front-facing fingerprint scanner can be clearly seen in the images and it’s really no surprise to see this feature making a return.
That’s about all we can glean from the OnePlus 3 leaks, though we can turn to the rumor mill for a few other alleged specs. Rumors claim we’ll be seeing two versions of the OnePlus 3, one with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage and the other with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. Pricing is expected to be aggressive as seen with its predecessor. There aren’t too many solid rumors about the rest of the specs, though a Snapdragon 820 is pretty likely.
