Prime World: Defenders 2 launched on Android: tower defense with a twist
The popular tower defense game, Prime World: Defenders has finally seen its sequel launch on Android. Prime World: Defenders 2 picks up where the original left off, packing monsters, runes, spells and battle in a frenzy of TD action. For those that don’t know, Nival game studio’s twist on the familiar tower defense genre is the addition of an in-game collectible card game.
With 29 bosses, 40 towers and 20 spells with which to win those towers, Prime World: Defenders 2 isn’t short on action either. The collectible cards come into play as the towers and spells that you acquire along the way.
There’s 47 different achievements to unlock and everything is tied into Google Play Games. When you win a level you’ll be granted coins and, as you probably guessed, there are in-app purchases to jump start your progression. Fortunately, pay-walls don’t interfere with the gameplay, which moves along at a nice pace without having to fork over any additional dough.
On the downside, the game is in portrait orientation which is a little weird but works quite well. You’ll also need to have an active internet connection to play, so don’t download this bad boy as you’re about to get on a plane. The Play Store reviews also seem to point out a few problems with loading or downloading assets.
