Terminus, the last chapter of Republique, has arrived
Set in an Orwellian world where hacking and stealth are the only way to evade the government’s overwhelming surveillance, Republique is a mobile adventure game that puts you in the shoes of Hope. You are a renegade seeking to hack into the government’s surveillance system and unravel an expanding mystery that has been trailed out over the game’s five chapters. Terminus is the finale of this long-running series, so we won’t spoil any aspects of the plot for those who haven’t played the other four, but trust us: these games are worth checking out.
One thing that Terminus brings to the table that previous chapters didn’t have in their pockets is an element of choose-your-own-adventure. Your decisions in this game will affect what happens to Hope in the long run, but you can also let her choose her path for herself. It’s an interesting gameplay mechanic that draws an unusual line between player and protagonist. Other features include the ability to revisit areas from previous chapters with new context, and there are of course new enemies to outwit and new allies to befriend.
The game is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, and Portuguese.
