Samsung reportedly to go toe-to-toe with Jaybird with Level Active
According to SamMobile, it looks like Samsung is taking aim at Jaybird to become a major player in the fitness-geared Bluetooth headset market. It’s called the Level Active, and it’s made its appearance at a number of certification authorities. From these we’ve learned that the model number seems to be EO-BG930, as listed with Bluetooth, and the odds seem good that it will hit the market with the name Samsung Level Active.
We’ve also snagged some leaked images of the product, which reveal it to be very Jaybird-esque. We don’t have any information regarding these earbuds’ launch date or price, but they appear to be most of the way through the certification process. We’ll have to wait around for more details, but we hope they’ll be coming soon.
Jaybird is currently one of the leading brands renowned for their Bluetooth sports headsets. The Utah-based company was recently acquired by Logitech to the tune of $50 million, and if the Korean tech titan is truly aiming to enter into their arena, then they’ll have some stiff competition. Jaybird has a solid reputation in the industry and recently unveiled some of the smallest bluetooth earbuds we’ve ever seen.
With the global smartphone market gradually cooling, it’s no surprise that we’re seeing Samsung continue to expand their line of products in new directions. But what do you think of the Level Active? Give us your thoughts in the comments below!
