Temple Run VR now available for Samsung's Gear VR Innovator Edition

Temple Run is one of the most successful games ever to come to Android, and it’s about to get even better. The folks who created the game, Imangi Studios, recently announced their plans to release a virtual reality version of the game, entitled Temple Run VR. The game is out now, and is available to download for the Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition.

We’ve seen different variations of the game since its launch on Android like Temple Run 2, Temple Run: Brave, and Temple Run: Oz, but the games all stick to the same gameplay. In Temple Run VR, though, you’re running away from the arctic demon monkey atop snowy trails in a first-person view of the entire nerve-wracking experience. While running away, you can actually look back at the monkey and see it chasing you icy paths and over wobbly bridges.

With the recent launch of Samsung’s Gear VR, this looks to be one of the first popular titles to make its way to the virtual reality platform. If you’re interested in downloading the game, you can do so, for free, in the Oculus Store. Remember, you must have a Gear VR Innovator Edition as well as a Galaxy Note 4 to play this game. So for all of us who just have normal smartphones, we’ll have to settle for the original Temple Run.
