Twitter introduces new Connect tab and promises better follow recommendations
Twitter has announced it is rolling out an update that will overhaul the ‘find friends’ tab and provide better recommendations on who to follow on the platform. Called Connect, the new tab offers a better overview of people and brands to follow, including those in your contacts list, all in one place. Twitter has also revised its recommendation algorithm to provide more useful suggestions.
The Twitter team will continue to update the recommendation algorithm based on “who you already follow, Tweets you like, popular accounts in your local area, what’s happening in the world right now, and more. We’ll also let you know exactly why we’re showing you each recommendation”. The revised tab layout on iOS can be seen below.

The update is rolling out as of today on Android and iOS, so keep an eye out for an update notification or just jump in and update the app yourself. You’ll see a little blue notification introducing the new Connect tab when it is available for you.
