Yu Yureka 2 launched in India for Rs 11,999 (~$185)
After a long quiet period which led to a lot of worry about the future of Yu Mobiles, the Micromax subsidiary returned with a bang earlier this summer with the impressive Yu Yureka Black. Now, Yu hopes to take on the likes of Xiaomi in the affordable smartphone segment with their latest offering, and while many have tried, Yu may actually have a winner on their hands with the Yu Yureka 2!
On the specifications front, the device comes with everything we’ve come to expect from devices that fall in this price range, including a 5.5-inch display with a Full HD resolution, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of built-in storage, and a 16 MP rear camera and 8 MP front-facing shooter.
Keeping everything running is a large 3,930 mAh battery which should offer good battery life, and when you do need to charge the phone, you will be able to do so quickly with the device supporting Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. Also keeping with current trends, the Yureka 2 comes with a sleek full metal unibody construction as well.
If a lot of those specifications sound familiar, that’s because those are mostly what you get with the high-end version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Apart from the similar internals, it doesn’t get more obvious that Yu is attempting to undercut Xiaomi and reign in their dominance with the Yu Yureka 2 priced cheaper than the Redmi Note 4 at Rs 11,999 (~$185).
The Yu Yureka 2 will be available from September 20 and be one of the highlighted devices of Flipkart’s Big Billion Day Sale that will last till September 24, so do look out for some exciting offers to go with the phone as well.
