Would you buy the vivo Nex if it came to your region? (Poll of the Week)
Last week’s poll summary: Out of over 3,000 votes, 36.2 percent of our readers said the best place for a fingerprint sensor is on the back, while 31.8 percent voted for under-display sensors. 21.6 percent of the votes went towards front-facing fingerprint sensors, while just 8.2 percent of voters prefer side-mounted sensors. The results were just about the same on our social channels, too. Most people prefer rear-facing fingerprint sensors, while under-display sensors come in at a close second.
The vivo Nex isn’t a phone without flaws, but it’s certainly one of the most futuristic phones to launch in the past few years.
In a world filled with notches and fingerprint sensors that take up precious room around the phone, the vivo Nex offers a few innovative and interesting solutions. Don’t want a display notch? vivo created a pop-up selfie camera that actually rises out of the top. Hate the fact that your fingerprint sensor has to be built into a button or on the back of the phone? vivo included a fingerprint sensor that sits under the Nex’s display. It’s really cool.
For how futuristic this phone is, it actually has its fair share of flaws. The software is a blatant iOS ripoff, the battery can’t last a full day, and there’s no NFC or IP rating.
vivo just announced that the phone would be released outside of China, with a release slated for Hong Kong, Russia, Malaysia, Taiwan, and India before the end of this month. It likely won’t come to the U.S., and there’s no word on a Western Europe release, either.
But if the vivo Nex came to your region, would you buy it? Or are its shortcomings enough to turn you away? Cast your vote in the poll attached below!
