The vivo X7 sold over a quarter million units in its first day of sales
The vivo X7 officially launched on July 7 and sold over 250,000 units on its first day. I don’t care who you are – that’s a lot of phones. To put that figure in perspective, the LG G5 only sold 1.6 million in its first month. The solid first days sales of the vivo X7 come hot on the heels of the company seeing a 40% increase in production volume year-over-year.
The vivo X7 actually had a million registrations made for it in less than a week, so the subsequent day sales figures might be just as high. With a price tag of ¥2,498 ($375), the X7 isn’t super-cheap, but its mix of decent specs and premium styling look to have struck a positive note with its Chinese audience. It was sold both on- and offline in 667 cities and with the co-operation of three of China’s largest online retailers.
The vivo X7 specs include a 5.2-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 652 SoC clocked at 1.8 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB storage with microSD expansion, a 13 MP f/2.2 main camera and whopping 16 MP f/2.0 front-facing camera, 3,000 mAh battery, fingerprint scanner and Android 5.1 Lollipop. The 5.7-inch vivo X7 Plus will launch on July 15 with a larger screen, larger battery and 16 MP main camera.
