Abstruct is a new wallpaper app from the creator of OnePlus' wallpapers
OnePlus phones have dazzled with their wallpapers almost since the beginning, and it’s largely thanks to one man: Swedish designer Hampus Olsson. In a tweet earlier today, Olsson revealed his new wallpaper app, Abstruct, which will allow other Android fans to enjoy his work.
The free app features dozens of wallpapers, all of which come in 4K resolution. You’ll find numerous, colorful, abstract works here, as well as many official OnePlus wallpapers like those seen on the OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 5T, and OnePlus 3T.
There are more than 300 wallpapers in total, but you’ll have to pay $1.99 to upgrade to the “Pro version” to unlock many of them. More than 100, by my count.
Abstruct itself is clean and intuitive — using it is simply a matter of finding a wallpaper you like and selecting “set wallpaper.” You won’t find some of the more advanced features of other wallpaper apps — like automatic daily wallpaper switching. The app may not be updated very often either, since it only features the work of one artist.
Still, the wallpapers represent the same excellent quality we’ve come to expect from Olsson, and there’s bound to be something there that catches your eye.
Let me know what you think of Abstruct in the comments. I had a bit of trouble tracking it down in Google Play initially but the link below should take you straight there if you can’t find it yourself.
