Acer's new Chromebook 11 nets you USB Type-C and 10 hours of battery life
- Acer’s Chromebook 11 features two USB Type-C ports and an 11.6-inch display
- The laptop features the latest Celeron processors
- The Chromebook 11 will be available this April, starting at $250
Known for making affordable Chromebooks, Acer doesn’t look to move away from its Chrome OS-flavored status quo with the latest Chromebook 11.
The exterior is somewhat unassuming, given the generous use of plastic throughout. With that said, that striking blue color, combined with the black touchpad, palm rest, and keyboard areas, does give the Chromebook 11 some character.
Continuing our tour of the outside, the laptop features two USB 3.0 ports, a microSD card slot, a headphone jack, and not one, but two USB Type-C ports, one on either side. The 11.6-inch display, which comes in either touch or non-touch variants, features a 1,366 x 768 resolution, with an HDR webcam up top and dual stereo speakers.
Under the hood, Acer says the Chromebook 11 features the ‘latest Celeron processors,’ though the company didn’t give exact specifications or say whether there would be more than one option. Acer did say you can outfit the laptop with either 2 GB or 4 GB of RAM and either 16 GB or 32 GB of storage.
Finally, the Chromebook 11 comes with Google Play Store support out of the box.
If you couldn’t already tell, the Chromebook 11 is meant for those not looking for hardcore productivity. Rather, it’s positioned as a low- to mid-range Chromebook that you can take to the coffee shop and library to give your back a break every once in a while.
At this point, we don’t know what the different configurations will do to the Chromebook 11’s price tag. That being said, it will be available this April starting at $250 for the most basic options.
