Acer announces new Liquid Z500 phone, two new Android tablets
While most of us are anxiously waiting for what Samsung and Sony will unveil today, there’s plenty of other great announcements going on here at IFA. With that in mind, Acer has now announced two new tablets and a new Liquid series smartphone.
The smartphone is dubbed the Liquid Z500 and is a budget 5-inch device with dual front speakers, a 5-inch IPS display, an 8MP camera and a price tag of €149 (roughly $195). The phone is expected to be launched on September 15th. Not much else is known about the device just yet, though we are sure Acer will have more details for us a bit down the road.
Turning to their new tablets, Acer has announced the Iconia Tab 10 and Iconia One 8. The One is an 8-inch tablet with a resolution of 1280×800 and is powered by an Intel Atom Z3735G quad-core CPU with Android 4.4 KitKat as the OS of choice. This model will arrive in October for 149€ ($195).
For those looking for something with a bit bigger of a display, Acer’s Tab 10 features a 10-inch IPS full-HD panel with a quad-core MediaTek CPU, micro-HDMI, and Android 4.4. Unlike the other two this one is heading to the states later this month for $199.
While none of Acer’s offerings are going to blow your socks off, they seem to be reasonably decent devices at pretty affordable price points. What do you think of Acer’s latest, interested or no?
