Acer is launching three new ultrabooks later this year, all of which use Intel’s new Iris Xe graphics chip. The Acer Swift models are all very light but still offer solid performance, along with long battery life and fast charging features.
The Intel Iris Xe graphics chip is integrated into the new 11th Generation Core processors, which uses the Tiger Lake 10nm design. It’s supposed to offer a major boost in performance compared to previous Intel integrated graphics solutions.
Acer Swift 5
The new Acer Swift 5 not only has Intel’s newest processor and graphics chip, but it has been officially certified to carry the Intel Evo badge. This means the Acer Swift 5 has met the requirements of the Evo laptop program. They include offering consistent responsiveness, along with instant wake features. Evo-certified laptops must also have all-day battery life, with fast charging.
The Swift 5 is made of a magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminum chassis which allows it to weight just 2.26 pounds. It has a 14-inch Full HD display with a 90% screen-to-body ratio. It also has a touchscreen display covered with a layer of Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass. It’ll last up to 17 hours on a single charge.
The ultrabook goes on sale November with a starting price of $999.99.
Two Acer Swift 3 models
The company is also launching two different Swift 3 ultrabooks. One model, the SF313-53, includes a 13.5-inch 2256 x 1504 resolution display. It has an aluminum and magnesium-aluminum design that allows it to weight just 2.62 pounds. It has a battery life of up to 18 hours on a single charge.
The other model, the SF314-59, includes a larger 14-inch Full HD display with a screen-to-body ratio of 82.73%. It weighs just 2.65 pounds, thanks to its an aluminum and magnesium-aluminum design.
Both of the new models sport features like Wi-Fi 6 hardware, a backlit keyboard, and support for up to 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Both notebooks go on sale in November. The Acer Swift 3 SF313-53 model will have a starting price of $799.99, while the SF314-59 version will be priced starting at $699.99.
