From specs to pricing: Here are all the new Googlebooks announced today

Google has finally launched the Googlebook platform today, which combines ChromeOS and Android into one desktop OS. This platform offers tighter integration with Android phones, Gemini support, and Create My Widget functionality.

However, the Googlebook launch means nothing without devices that actually run the platform. Fortunately, there are five Googlebooks to choose from. Here are all the models available at launch.

What to know about these Googlebooks?

The first wave of new-generation Google PCs all come with at least 16GB of RAM and at least 256GB of SSD storage. Google also promises that these laptops all offer “14+ hours” of battery life. Otherwise, the company says all five launch models have backlit keyboards, touchscreens, and the Glowbar lighting. The Glowbar is located on the exterior lid of the laptop and lights up for battery levels, Gemini interactions, and at startup.

All these launch models have fingerprint scanners too, which should make life easier when unlocking your laptop, logging in to services, or making purchases. Google also touts Gemini Intelligence “with dedicated 40+ TOPS NPU acceleration.” Sure enough, all these Googlebooks have NPUs with over 40 TOPS of performance.

The search giant is offering a free year of GeForce Now streaming with every Googlebook purchase, along with 12 months of Google AI Pro. You’re also getting three months of YouTube Premium, Adobe Photoshop, and Capcut. These first machines will be available in the US from October 4.

Acer

The Acer Googlebook 14 is the cheapest Googlebook at launch, with a recommended price of $899. It’s also the only convertible laptop at launch, allowing you to fold it into a tablet form factor.

Core specs include a 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen, an Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 Panther Lake processor, 16GB of RAM, at least 256GB of SSD storage, and an aluminum-and-magnesium chassis. Acer also revealed that the device has a 71Wh battery.

ASUS

We go from the Acer Googlebook 14 to the ASUS Googlebook 14. The ASUS laptop has some features in common with the Acer model. That includes the same 16GB/256GB base model, an Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 Panther Lake chip, and the aluminum-and-magnesium design.

Otherwise, the ASUS Googlebook 14 has a 14-inch 3K OLED touchscreen (500 nits of brightness), a haptic touchpad, and a $1,299 recommended price.

Dell

The Dell XPS Googlebook is also part of the first wave of Googlebooks, and it differs from the previous two models by opting for an Arm chip. Yes, the XPS Googlebook is powered by the Snapdragon X Elite chipset. This chip launched in 2024, but it’s still a capable and versatile processor in 2026.

Other notable features include 16GB or 32GB of RAM, at least 512GB of SSD storage, face unlock, a haptic touchpad, and an aluminum chassis. This also has the smallest screen on the list, packing a 13-inch 2.5K touch display, although there’s no word on the screen technology. Dell’s first Googlebook has a recommended starting price of $1,199. So this might be the one to get if you want a more compact Googlebook.

HP

HP isn’t left out of the fun, either, as it’s got the HP Googlebook 14. This laptop starts at $1,299 and comes with a Snapdragon X Elite processor, at least 16GB of RAM, at least 256GB of SSD storage, and a 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen (500 nits of brightness). Expect an all-aluminum design and a haptic touchpad as well.

Lenovo

The Lenovo Googlebook 15 has the largest screen of the lot, featuring a 15.3-inch OLED touch display (2.8K resolution). That’s good news if you plan to watch videos or simply want a large canvas for work and/or light gaming. Throw in Dolby Atmos audio, and this might be the best multimedia-focused Googlebook on the list.

Otherwise, Lenovo’s first Googlebook has an Intel Core Ultra 5 Panther Lake processor, 16GB of RAM, 256GB of base storage, a haptic touchpad, and face unlock in addition to the expected fingerprint scanner. The Lenovo Googlebook 15 starts at $1,299.
