Amazon quietly brings Echo Spot to India
Amazon launched the Echo family of smart speakers – Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Plus – in India last year and has now finally brought the Echo Spot to the country as well.
The Echo Spot is basically a smaller Echo Show (which still hasn’t launched in India), following the same formula of adding a display and a camera to Echo. It has a smaller screen-size, obviously, and looks like a clock placed on your side-table.
Echo Spot does what all Alexa-powered Echo devices do – make calls, get news and information from the web, reminders, play music, control compatible smart home devices, as well as use Alexa skills to order food from Zomato, request a ride from Ola, book a carpenter from Urbanclap, and more. But of course, since there’s a display, you can watch the latest news from NDTV, Times Now, ESPN Cricinfo, Aaj Tak, and more or easily see and manage your family’s calendar or start a timer while you’re cooking something in the kitchen.
