Here's the date and time for Xbox Series X and Series S pre-orders (Updated)

Update, September 18, 2020 (04:35 PM ET): Previously, Microsoft confirmed the Xbox Series X price, release date, and when pre-orders would begin. Today, though, the company confirmed to Kotaku exactly when pre-orders will start that day.

According to Kotaku’s report, the Xbox Series X and Series S will start the pre-order phase at 8:00 AM PT (11:00 AM ET) on September 22, 2020. Pre-orders will be available via a variety of retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Game Stop, and more.

This specific info stands in stark contrast to the total mess that is the current pre-order phase for the Sony PlayStation 5. Sony announced that pre-orders would begin today, but multiple retailers started offering them yesterday in a haphazard fashion. At this point, most retailers in the US don’t have any pre-orders available.

Hopefully, the Xbox pre-orders will go a lot smoother.

Original article, September 9, 2020 (09:31 AM ET): Microsoft confirmed the existence of the Xbox Series S yesterday as well as its $299 price. Now, the Redmond company has issued pricing details for the Xbox Series X, and you’ll be spending $499 to own the machine.

The official Xbox Twitter account tweeted the news, while also announcing that all pre-orders begin on Tuesday September 22 and that the consoles will be available globally from November 10. Check out the tweet below.

Meanwhile, European users can expect to pay €499, according to the German-language Xbox Twitter account. Gamers in the UK will need to splash out £449.

The Redmond company added that it’s expanding its Xbox All Access program to 12 countries, giving you an Xbox Series S or Series X and 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $24.99 a month or $34.99 a month respectively. This payment period lasts for 24 months.

The 12 countries receiving Xbox All Access are as follows (Microsoft says additional counties will join this list in 2021):

• Finland
• France
• New Zealand
• Norway
• Poland
• South Korea
• Sweden

• US

Microsoft also confirmed that the EA Play game subscription service will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC at no extra cost. So if you ever thought Microsoft’s library of Game Pass titles was a little thin, then this might change your mind.
