Anbernic spills the specs of its Nintendo Switch Lite look-alike

Anbernic is preparing to launch its next Android-powered gaming handheld, known as the RG 55G1. We got our first official look at the device back in April. While the reveal video offered a few details, like Hall-Effect joysticks and triggers, there was still a lot we didn’t know. The handheld maker has now shared an unboxing video that fills in many of the missing details.

Anbernic’s unboxing video gives us our best look yet at the Nintendo Switch Lite-looking console. Inside the box is the RG 55G1 and a user manual. As we learned earlier, the system will be available in three colors: Indigo, Retro Gray, and Black. We also see the RG 55G1 casting wirelessly to a TV.

Most notably, the video includes a full spec sheet for the handheld. Here are the details listed in that spec sheet:

• Ram: 4GB or 8GB
• Storage: 64GB or 128GB

Along with these specs, Anbernic also shares what games you’ll be able to play. It appears the device can handle Android games, a variety of handheld platforms (PS Vita, Nintendo 3DS, PSP, GBA, and more), and some consoles (PS1, PS2, Wii U, Wii, etc).

At this point, there are two major questions that are still unanswered about the RG 55G1. We still don’t know when Anbernic plans to release this new device. The other question is the cost. Given that there are two configurations, we at least know there will be a cheaper variant.
