Video: Android 5.0 Lollipop running on Samsung's Galaxy S4
We’ve already seen early builds of Android 5.0 Lollipop running on the Samsung Galaxy S5 and now it is the turn of the handset’s older Galaxy S4 sibling to receive the same treatment.
As per earlier reports, the video shows the Korean (Exynos SoC) version of the Galaxy S4 running Lollipop. The fate of the commonplace Snapdragon powered Galaxy S4 is still unknown, although it is highly unlikely that Samsung would update one and not the other. Here’s a look at what’s in store when the update finally rolls around:
Touchwiz, OS software features, and Material Design influences all appear identical to similar to builds put together for the Galaxy S5. The software is a little buggy in places, as you may have noticed, but the handset isn’t running the finished version of Lollipop. Instead, the firmware is based on an earlier Lollipop code (LRX02E), the same as the latest Galaxy S5 video, where as the final Lollipop build carries the LRX21M identifier.
We still don’t have an official release date for Samsung’s Lollipop updates, but the latest rumors estimate an early 2015 release for the Galaxy S4 and a December update for the Galaxy S5.
