Marshmallow comes to the Moto X Play in India and Brazil
Outside of the U.S., the DROID Maxx 2 is known as the Moto X Play and it just got the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in both India and Brazil. Perhaps a little surprising considering how quickly Moto devices have received Android updates in the past, but still a welcome surprise.
The Moto X Pure Edition in the States (known as the Moto X Style outside the U.S.) and the Moto X (2nd generation) have already received the update, but the DROID Maxx 2 is still waiting. Perhaps Verizon is testing it. Or adding some bloat. Or just taking their sweet time.
The OTA update delivers Google Now on Tap, granular app permissions, Doze mode and App Standby, Google’s voice assist throughout the system and Adaptable Storage Devices for formatting external storage as internal storage (you still have the option to use it as portable storage too).
