Can't connect your phone to Android Auto? You're definitely not alone.
- Scores of users have reported that they can’t connect their phones to Android Auto.
- The issue seems to be related to a new Android Auto update.
Android Auto is one of the most popular car entertainment platforms around, allowing you to quickly connect your phone to your car’s entertainment system. Unfortunately, a new Android Auto update seems to have introduced a major bug.
Dozens of users on Google’s support forum (h/t: 9to5Google) have reported that they can’t connect their phones to Android Auto. The users also noted that the issue seems to have started after the Android Auto version 7.8.6 update.
Forum users confirm that devices like the Google Pixel 6, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy Note 10 Plus, Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite, and ASUS Zenfone 8 are all affected. So the issue isn’t limited to a specific brand. Furthermore, affected users also said they had issues with both USB and wireless connections.
“Thanks for reporting this issue. We forwarded this issue to the rest of the team. We’ll update with more information when it’s available,” a Google representative noted in the forum thread. But here’s hoping the company quickly resolves this matter.
