Android Marshmallow heading to the HONOR 5X 'soon'
Huawei’s Honor has just been teasing that an Android Marshmallow update is on the way for its budged friendly 5X smartphone. The handset originally launched in the US back in January and currently runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. The phone generated some notable interest due to its very low $200, £189.99, €229.99, or CHF 229.90 price tag.
The short Tweet doesn’t give too much else away. The launch date is simply said to be “coming soon” and there’s no mention of any specific new features that will be included. Of course, we can expect all of the core Marshmallow Android features, including Doze, Google Now on Tap, and granular app permissions, to make their way intact, and there will probably be a new security patch included too.

HONOR has already released an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its HONOR 7 smartphone and has been providing security updates for its 5X, so hopefully customers won’t be waiting too long for the finished upgrade. We will be sure to keep our eyes out for additional information over the coming days and weeks.
