Screenshot confirms Android Oreo is coming soon to ZenFone 3
ASUS promised earlier this year that the ZenFone 3 would be updated to Android Oreo in the future, and judging by the recent series of screenshots, it might be just around the corner.
The ZenFone 3 and the ZenFone 4 are expected to receive Android 8.0 Oreo at some point in the future, and the Taiwanese manufacturer even promised that the upcoming software update would reduce the amount of bloatware. The problem is, ASUS never specified when this update would be coming, but according to ASUS ZenFone Blog, it might be sooner than we thought.
The online publication gives us a sneak peek at ZenUI based on Android Oreo:
As you can see, visually, not much has changed except for the pull-down notification shade and the icons in the settings menu. It’s not yet clear whether and to what extent ASUS will cut back on bloatware with the Oreo update, but it should come with all the features you’d expect from Android Oreo like picture-in-picture mode and improved background app management.
