Will you install the Android Q beta? (Poll of the Week)
Last week’s poll summary: Last week, we asked you if you were going to buy a device in the Samsung Galaxy S10 family. According to our results, 55 percent of you have no plans of buying any of the devices. Of the 45 percent who do plan to buy one, 17.5 percent of you chose the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, 11 percent chose the Samsung Galaxy S10, and only 2.5 percent chose the Samsung Galaxy S10e (14.5 percent were planning a purchase but undecided). It’s clear that the majority of our readers like the biggest, most powerful phone they can get.
The very first public beta release of Android Q dropped yesterday. The latest flavor of Android has some notable upgrades, including a revamped process for permissions, a host of new APIs, a color accent selector, and more.
As with last year’s release of Android P (which eventually became Android 9 Pie), brave souls can flash Android Q on their Pixel smartphones, including the OG Pixel and Pixel XL. We also expect many more devices to eventually be able to flash future beta versions of the OS.
By flashing Android Q, you’ll be among the first to test out the new operating system and help Google find bugs and errors before the OS gets a proper release.
Are you going to be one of those folks who takes a walk on the wild side and installs a bug-heavy, unpolished version of Android? Let us know what your plans are in the poll below!
