Apple iPhone 14 series launch date tipped: Under a month to go
- The iPhone 14 series launch event could reportedly take place on September 7.
- Retail employees were apparently told to prepare for a major product release on September 16.
Apple’s iPhone 14 series is expected to launch later this year, and we already have a good idea of what to expect thanks to rumors and leaks. Now, a respected source has dished out a launch date for the new Apple handsets.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reports that Apple plans to hold its iPhone 14 series launch event on September 7, citing people familiar with the matter. This means we’re under a month away from the new phones launching.
The outlet adds that some Apple retail employees were told to expect a major product release on September 16. This would be roughly in line with the time between reveal and release for other iPhone models.
What to expect from iPhone 14 range?
Apple is planning to offer four iPhone 14 models this year, but it’s believed that the iPhone 14 Mini will be dropped in favor of the iPhone 14 Max. As the name implies, the iPhone 14 Max will purportedly be a large iPhone with a 6.7-inch screen but won’t gain any Pro-level features. Furthermore, it’s also believed that the standard iPhone 14 and Max models will retain the current A15 processor while only the Pro models gain the upcoming A16 chipset.
Staying with the iPhone 14 Pro models, these devices are tipped to arrive with 48MP main cameras and punch-hole cutouts instead of the broad notch that’s been a fixture since the iPhone X.
