iPhone 15 leaks in renders: No more notch!
After leaking CAD-based renders of the iPhone 15 Pro, 9to5Mac has outed renders of the vanilla iPhone 15. The images highlight some big design changes coming to the upcoming standard iPhone, the biggest one being the removal of the notch.
Per the leaked renders, the iPhone 15 will welcome Apple’s Dynamic Island on board. It was previously reserved for the Pro iPhone 14 model, but it looks like the new series will make the pill-shaped camera housing standard across the board.
Another change coming to the iPhone 15 is the USB-C port. The new Lightning port replacement was also spotted on the leaked iPhone 15 Pro renders. Apple already said it would comply with Europe’s common charger policy, so it’s no surprise the new iPhones are finally adopting USB-C.
Meanwhile, the company seems to be sticking with the same dual-camera setup at the back of the iPhone 15. The third camera is likely reserved for the Pro iPhone 15 models.
Up front, the CAD renders reveal a 6.2-inch display, slightly larger than the 6.1-inch screen of the iPhone 14. The capacitive buttons spotted on the iPhone 15 Pro renders are missing from the iPhone 15’s CAD files obtained by 9to5Mac. It seems the regular iPhone will still feature physical buttons. That said, the publication notes these files are not final, and the phone’s design could change closer to the launch.
