Oct 8, 2026 — 2:49 PM ET
- Apple has confirmed it’s hosting an event with the tagline “Welcome Home” next week.
- The event should feature previously leaked smart home gear developed jointly with LG, among others.
- It may also feature Apple’s rumored smart display, an updated HomePod mini speaker, and more.
Apple just revealed a slate of new products, including its first folding phone, at a hardware event in September. Rumors have been making the rounds that the company’s got even more new stuff to reveal, and soon — and today, we’ve got confirmation that’s true.
In a post on Instagram, Apple has confirmed that it’ll hold an event next week with the tagline “Welcome Home,” which fits nicely with the smart home gadgets we’re expecting the event will focus on.
Mark Gurman has also confirmed that Apple is sending out invitations to the upcoming event today, as well as that the event will take place in New York.

Based on prior leaks, it looks like the event will feature smart home devices jointly developed by Apple and both LG and Schneider. We’ve seen leaked imagery of a smart deadbolt and a smart thermostat, as well as a connected sensor, that’ll purportedly be announced at the event.
Apple’s also rumored to be working on its first-ever smart display, a refreshed HomePod mini, and an updated Apple TV streaming box, all which could make an appearance at next week’s event, too. We haven’t seen images of any of those unannounced devices, however.
Apple’s Welcome Home event is scheduled to take place next week, on Tuesday, October 13.
