ASUS debuts several new ROG and TUF gaming products at CES 2020
ASUS announced a boatload of new PC hardware as part of CES 2020. Many of the devices target hardcore PC gamers. In addition to the well-know ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand, ASUS is introducing new products from its more affordable TUF gaming brand.
ASUS TUF A15 and A17 laptops
The all-new ASUS 15-inch TUF Gaming A15 and F15 laptops were revealed at CES today, along with the 17-inch A17 and F17 models. The A15 and A17 laptops will come with 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch display, respectively. Inside, the laptops will come with AMD Ryzen 4000 Series mobile processors. The A15 will support up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU, with the A17 will support up to the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU. Both laptops will support up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SDD storage.
The laptops will launch in the first quarter of 2020. Pricing has yet to be revealed. The TUF F15 and F17 laptops will launch later this year with upcoming 10th Generation Intel Core processors. Again, pricing and more info on those laptops will be revealed later.
ROG Zephyrus G14 and Zephyrus G15
ASUS also announced the ROG Zephyrus G14 and Zephyrus G15 gaming laptops. Both models are also made to be very thin as well, with a chassis that’s about 17.9mm thick. Despite this, ASUS has managed to pack in some high-end hardware inside these thin laptop designs. The Zephyrus G14 even includes a special CPU, created by AMD, that is supposed to create less heat than normal laptop gaming processors. However, the CPU still manages to put out a lot of performance for gaming and other tasks. The laptop also has a special ErgoLift hinge. It allows the bottom of the laptop’s display to lift the back of the machine when the lid is opened. This offers better cooling for the laptop.
The laptop can even be ordered with an optional LED display that is placed inside the top lip. It’s designed to show things like the current time and other images.
The Zephyrus G15 has the new AMD Ryzen 7 4800HS mobile APU inside. The Zephyrus G15 can come with a display for up 240Hz for the best performance in playing games or even just scrolling on web pages. Both models support up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SDD storage. The laptops will go on sale sometime in the first half of 2020. Pricing has yet to be revealed.
ROG Swift 360Hz PC gaming monitor
ASUS has just announced the ROG Swift 360Hz monitor as well. It’s the first with a 360Hz framerate, which means you could get up to 50 percent more frame rates than you could playing games with those slower 240Hz models. It has a 24.5-inch screen with full HD resolution and is perfect for amateur and pro eSports players. ASUS also announced the 32-inch ROG Swift PG32UQX monitor, with a 4K 144Hz screen, and a mini-LED panel backlight that supports up to 1400 nits of brightness. Both monitors support NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology for smoother performance while playing games with GeForce-based GPUs.
The monitors will launch later in 2020. Pricing has yet to be announced.
