Asus' new trio of Chromebooks promise not to break the bank
- ASUS announced three new Chromebooks: the C223, C423, and C523.
- The Chromebook C223 features an 11.6-inch display, while the Chromebook C423 and C523 feature 14-inch and 15-inch displays, respectively.
- All three Chromebooks are available through various retailers.
With more Chromebooks vying for the mid-tier segment of the market with prices to match, ASUS decided to go much cheaper with its new trio of Chromebooks: the 11.6-inch Chromebook C223, 14-inch Chromebook C423, and C523.
Starting with the Chromebook C223, the laptop features an 11.6-inch display with 1,366 x 768 resolution and an anti-glare coating, a dual-core Intel Celeron N3350 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, and a 38Wh battery that should be good for up to 10 hours of web browsing. The Chromebook C223 also features two USB Type-C ports, one regular USB 3.0 port, and a headphone jack.
You can pick the Chromebook C223 at the links below for around $230.
Moving on to the larger Chromebook C423 and C523, the two laptops come with either the Celeron N3350 or the quad-core Pentium N4200, up to 8GB of RAM, either 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage, two USB Type-C ports, and two regular USB 3.0 ports. You even have similar display options, with the non-touch option at 1,366 x 768 resolution and the touch option at 1,920 x 1,080 resolution.
The only difference between the Chromebook C423 and C523 is the display size; the former comes with a 14-inch display, while the latter features a larger 15-inch display. That makes the Chromebook C523 ASUS’ first 15-inch Chromebook.
Unfortunately, the only available Chromebook C423 and C523 variants come with the Celeron N3350 and 4GB of RAM. That might be why the two Chromebooks cost less than $300.
You can pick up the Chromebook C423 and C523 at the links below. Both laptops cost $270, though Adorama lists the Chromebook C423 for $290 for some reason.
