Update, September 23, 2019 (4:30 PM ET): We’ve updated this post with the ASUS ROG Phone 2 United States price and availability details. Read on for more information in this regard.

Previous coverage: The ASUS ROG Phone 2 was announced back in July, but fans outside China have waited a while to hear availability details. Well, you can read on for launch and pricing information regarding this gaming phone.

In terms of specs, the ASUS ROG Phone 2 packs a Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, up to 12GB of RAM, and a huge, 6,000mAh battery with 30W charging.

It wouldn’t be a gaming phone without the relevant features, and the ROG Phone 2 retains the predecessor’s Air Trigger ultrasonic shoulder triggers for use in games.

The phone also packs a 6.59-inch notched OLED screen (FHD+) with a 120Hz refresh rate. In fact, ASUS has also listed dozens of games that support 120Hz refresh rates, including Alto’s Odyssey, Dead Trigger 2, Hitman Go, Minecraft, and more.

You can also expect a dual rear camera setup (48MP plus 13MP ultra-wide), a 32MP selfie snapper, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm port, and an extra USB-C port on the side for accessories.

Europe

European users can grab the standard model via the ASUS eShop from September 4, with orders shipping from the “end of September.” The standard variant will set you back €899 (~$990), which is a little pricier than the original ROG Phone which retailed for around €799.

Europe is also getting the ASUS ROG Phone 2 Ultimate Edition (due in Q4 2019), which differs from the standard model by offering 1TB of UFS 3.0 storage (double the usual allotment), and Category 20 download speeds of up to 2Gbps. You’re also getting a Matte Black color scheme by opting for the Ultimate Edition.

Other than these changes, you’re getting the same ASUS ROG Phone 2 experience as the standard model. Expect to pay 1,199 euros for this edition of the gaming-focused phone.

India

ASUS India announcing the ROG Phone 2 launch.

ASUS had launched the ROG Phone in India and as expected the device will be made available on Flipkart starting September 30.

ASUS has launched the 8GB/128GB and the 12GB/512GB variants of the ROG phone 2 in India. Sadly, the Ultimate Edition of the phone has not come to India just yet.

Here are the prices for the two variants of the ROG Phone 2 and their accompanying accessories:

  • ROG Phone 2 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – Rs. 37,999 (Comes with 18W charger and Aero case)
  • ROG Phone 2 12GB RAM + 512GB storage – Rs. 59,999 (Comes with 30W charger, Aeroactive Cooler 2, Aero case)
  • ROG Phone 30W charger – Rs. 1,999
  • Aeroactive Cooler 2 – Rs. 3,999
  • Professional Dock – Rs. 5,499
  • Lightening Armour Case – Rs. 2,999
  • Twin View Dock 2 – Rs. 19,999
  • Mobile Desktop Dock – Rs. 12,999
  • ROG Kunai Gamepad controller – Rs. 9,999

In comparison to its predecessor, the ROG Phone 2 definitely has a more competitive price in India this time around. At these price points, the gaming phone goes up against the Black Shark 2 and the nubia REDMAGIC 3 in the Indian market.

United States

The 512GB model of the ROG Phone 2 is currently available for purchase in the United States for $899.99. Customers can pick up the device from B&H Photo and Mobile Advance.

The 1TB variant will be coming stateside at a later date, but pricing is yet to be announced. The lower end 256GB base model isn’t planned for release in the U.S.

Keep in mind that the device is GSM only, meaning it will not be available for Sprint and Verizon customers. The phone will even be missing T-Mobile’s Band 12 and Band 71, making it ideal for U.S. customers on AT&T’s network and its MVNOs.

We’ll be updating this article with more availability and pricing details as ASUS launches the ROG Phone 2 in more markets.
