These games support the ASUS ROG Phone's 90Hz display
The Razer Phone and Razer Phone 2 made a splash by delivering 120Hz refresh rates. This enables framerates higher than the industry-standard 60fps, giving smoother performance in the UI and in games.
The new ASUS ROG Phone doesn’t quite reach those same heights, but its 90Hz refresh rate is still higher than the vast majority of smartphones. Now, ASUS has sent us a list of (mostly) compatible games they’ve tested on the ROG Phone, along with frame rates achieved.
- Marvel Contest of Champions – 93
- Final Fantasy Brave Exvius – 93
- Middle Earth: Shadow of War – 94
- Vainglory – 94
- Warfair – 93
- Flippy Knife – 93
- Ballz – 93
- Groove Coaster 2 – 93
- Pokemon Go – N/A
- Dub Dash – 93
- Gear.Club – 40
- Hill Climb Racing 2 – 93
- Pac-Man – 93
- Pac-Man Pop! – 93
- CATS: Crash Arena – 93
- Super Mario Run – 60
- Alto’s Adventure – 93
- Boggle With Friends: Word Game – 93
- Card Thief – 93
- Golf Clash – 93
Some of these games are listed despite seeing framerates below 60fps. The company also listed Pokemon Go, but didn’t reveal an average framerate for the augmented reality title. It’s also worth noting that many games on the list have framerates of 93 or 94, which could mean the phone has a slightly higher refresh rate than the initially quoted 90Hz. Or it could be a glitch.
The ASUS PR email suggests that this isn’t an exhaustive list, so you may find your favorite games are supported too. Are there any games you’d like to see take advantage of the phone’s 90Hz display? Then let us know in the comments!
