ASUS Zenfone 10 may lose the flagship's best feature according to new leak
- The ASUS Zenfone 10 had its specs and launch window leaked.
- The leak suggests the upcoming phone will no longer be compact.
- It’s believed the Zenfone 10 could see a global release in the fourth quarter.
As expected, ASUS’s compact flagship — the Zenfone 9 — is getting a successor. However, it appears the company is making some changes that fans may not like.
In collaboration with tipster Paras Guglani, the publication Pricebaba acquired new information about the Zenfone 10. According to the leak, it appears the phone will lose the thing people loved most about the device — its compact size.
Last year, the Zenfone 9 launched with a 5.9-inch AMOLED screen, the perfect size to fit nicely in most pockets. This year, it looks like ASUS is throwing away the line’s compact status by giving the Zenfone 10 a display that’s bigger than the Samsung Galaxy S23’s screen. Specifically, the new handset may be fitted with a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The leak also revealed a few other important specs including the processor, storage, camera, and more. Starting with the processor, it looks like the Zenfone 10 could be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. Along with Qualcomm’s latest chip, the device could come with 16GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of internal storage. And it’s expected to ship with an OIS-enabled 200-megapixel primary camera, a big jump up from the 50MP main shooter in the Zenfone 9.
In addition to these specs, it appears ASUS has given the phone a 5,000mAh battery that features 67W fast charging. It may also have a liquid cooling unit for heat dissipation. And it’s believed it will come out of the gate with Android 13 installed. Lastly, it might boast a dustproof and water resistance rating of IP68.
As for the launch date, there were no specifics given, only a general timeframe. The leak suggests that the global launch should be sometime in the fourth quarter of this year and there could be three color variants. It’s also unknown what these three colorways for the Zenfone 10 will be.
