Just when you thought notches couldn't get uglier, we get this abomination
- Leaked pictures of the rumored ASUS ZenFone 6 show off a notch that is strangely off-center.
- The ZenFone 6 in the pictures is reportedly a prototype, so there is still time for ASUS to not do this.
- The ZenFone 6 also reportedly features three rear cameras, a first for any ASUS device.
Some people wish that notches never existed and that they burn in the deepest regions of hell. We apologize ahead of time to those people, because what you are about to see will no doubt trigger you.
Wait. You saw the image up top already, didn’t you? It looks awful, yet you almost can’t pull your eyes away from it. Ladies and gentlemen, that is an image of a supposed ASUS ZenFone 6 prototype that Slashleaks recently published. It is truly an abomination. Kill it with fire.
In all seriousness, what is ASUS thinking with the notch placement? Some might even ask why there is a notch there at all when phones like the vivo Nex, OPPO Find X, and Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 try to get away from it by placing the front camera elsewhere.
Why can’t ASUS just go all-in and move the notch to the corner of the display? I think that would look nicer than whatever we have here, because this is not doing it for me.
Regardless of which side of the notch you stand on, at least the ZenFone 6’s display almost reaches to the top of the phone. The bottom still features a slightly thicker chin, with the images not showing a front-facing speaker.
Elsewhere, the ZenFone 6 might feature a triple-camera setup around back. Three rear cameras would be a first for ASUS, but companies like Huawei, Samsung, and LG already beat it to the punch. We also see a fingerprint sensor around back, which might rule out any in-display fingerprint sensor.
We do not know much else about the rumored ZenFone 6. ASUS unveiled a good deal of its ZenFone 5 smartphones during MWC 2018 in February, so perhaps the company will go to MWC 2019 and unveil the ZenFone 6.
