AT&T HTCOne M9 and M8 Marshmallow update rolling out today
If you own an AT&T HTC One M9 or One M8, you’re in line to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update today, according to all-round AT&T update magician, Mo Versi, on Twitter. The update will be rolling out OTA, so keep an eye out for a notification or head to your Settings to check for it manually.
While Marshmallow is still only on 7.5% of Android devices globally a year after being announced, it is steadily spreading. Many older devices likely won’t ever see the update, so a new handset purchase will be required to get beyond KitKat or Lollipop. But for the lucky few, Marshmallow brings a whole host of great new features including Doze Mode, granular app permissions, Google Now on Tap and much, much more.
HTC has had a bit of an upswing in popularity of late, with the HTC 10 being received very well and the HTC Vive coming out on top in the high-end VR race. Multiple good mid-range offerings, a great new Sense UI and rumors of the fabled One Watch resurfacing yet again. Whether this product recipe will be sufficient to pull HTCout of its quarterly 64% sales slump is hard to say, but one things is for sure: this quarter is going to be a lot better than the last one.
What do you think will happen with HTCthis year? What are you most looking forward to?
