Aurzen's pocket-sized folding projector gets a Pro upgrade

We’ve learned to accept that in tech, anything portable will have compromises compared to its tethered counterpart — except phones, of course. Laptops are generally less powerful than desktops, wireless earbuds have the battery constraints that wired earbuds don’t, and projectors are no different.

The smaller projectors get, the more features consumers tend to lose, such as brightness, resolution, battery life, and more. Aurzen knows that, and instead of trying to replace your living-room TV, the company’s new projector goes all in on making the big-screen experience as portable as possible.

We found the company’s September 2025-unveiled Aurzen ZIP to be undeniably cool. It was one of the few projectors that truly lived up to its portable reputation, thanks to its Z-shaped folding mechanism, while offering modest specs. Aurzen’s IFA 2026-unveiled ZIP Pro takes the same concept and pushes the specs even further.

The new portable projector retains its predecessor’s folding approach and upgrades it with native 1080p resolution (at 60Hz). The original ZIP, for reference, was limited to 720p resolution. Similarly, it boasts 200 ANSI lumens of brightness, up from 100 ANSI lumens, making it an arguably more capable projector that could hold its own in low-light scenarios.

The ZIP Pro weighs 586g, roughly the same as two Galaxy Z Trifolds. That’s relatively light, especially for projectors, but the more important spec here is the size. When folded, the ZIP Pro measures 115mm × 97mm × 44mm, which is about the size of a large power bank.

The folding construction eliminates the need for a separate stand, since you can prop up the projector’s Z-shaped body at various angles. Pair that with autofocus and four-point keystone correction, and setup is no hassle.

Despite its small size, the ZIP Pro offers AirPlay, Miracast, DLNA, and Google Cast. Plus, AirLink P2P lets you mirror your phone’s screen to the projector without an active Wi-Fi connection. In situations where you’re more grounded, you can leverage the projector’s USB-C port for connections, complete with Type-C direct projection for Nintendo Switch and a dedicated Game Mode for it.

The portable projector offers dual Bluetooth headphone support, which means two people can listen to content at the same time without disturbing anyone else in the room. Alternatively, its dual 2W stereo speakers can handle audio when you want to modestly share the experience with those around you.

Elsewhere, what sets the ZIP Pro apart from its predecessor is its built-in touchscreen display. Yes, you read that right. The portable projector has a tiny display of its own, putting battery levels, connection status, and controls right at your fingertips.

To power all that tech, the ZIP Pro features a 38Wh battery (2 x 5,000mAh), which should offer roughly 2.5 hours of playback in ECO mode. And when the projector does run low, 65W USB-C PD fast charging should help get it back up and running relatively quickly.
