The Odin 3 Portal launches this week with Elite power, and the price is better than expected

AYN confirmed last week that the Odin 3 Portal was coming, picking up where the well-received Odin 2 Portal left off. The company recently confirmed that it would have Elite-level horsepower and a 9,000mAh battery, and it’s now revealed pricing and availability.

AYN confirmed on Discord that the Odin 3 Portal would officially launch on October 23 (Friday). The device will be available in Base (12GB/128GB), Pro (12GB/256GB), and Max (16GB/512GB) configurations.

The Base Odin 3 Portal has a recommended price of $419, the Pro variant ordinarily costs $499, and the Max model has a recommended price of $579. However, the company is offering a $20 promotional discount on its website, which translates to prices of $399, $479, and $549, respectively. That means you can get the handheld for the same price as the Steam Deck was back in 2022. This promo price also means it’s just $30 more expensive than the standard Odin 3.

Much like the Odin 3, the Odin 3 Portal has a Dragonwing Q8 chipset, which is effectively a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor without a modem. This is the most powerful processor seen in an Android handheld today. Otherwise, the Portal also features active cooling, a 9,000mAh battery, and 60W wired charging.

Other notable specs include a 7-inch 120Hz OLED screen, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 7, USB 3.1 connectivity, DisplayPort output (ostensibly via USB-C), rear paddle buttons, a microSD card slot, Android 15, and a weight of 450 grams (15.8 ounces). The new handheld will be available in Black, White, and Cold Gray color schemes.
