Exclusive: Leaked photos show off BBK Electronics' first laptop, the realme Book
- Android Authority has obtained exclusive photos of the first laptop from BBK Electronics — the parent company of OnePlus, OPPO, and others.
- The laptop will feature a 3:2 aspect ratio screen and a design that looks heavily inspired by Apple’s MacBooks.
- The laptop was teased on Twitter recently by realme’s India and Europe CEO.
Android Authority has obtained images of a prototype of the realme Book laptop. While we have only seen a glimpse of this laptop until now, these photos give a much better look at the design and build. This exclusive leak also confirms the name of the laptop and the name of the realme tablet too (more on that below).

BBK Electronics is the parent company of smartphone brands like OnePlus and OPPO. Over the years, it has become a colossal presence in the smartphone space. With realme, it is diversifying a bit. We have seen realme launch a sub-brand to the sub-brand to expand into the home ecosystem. This realme Book laptop seems like another step towards diversification.
The realme Book will have a 3:2 display and MacBook-inspired design
realme isn’t being too subtle about the MacBook inspiration. realme’s India and Europe CEO recently teased the realme Book on Twitter, giving a tiny glimpse at the product. You can see the laptop peeking out of an office envelope. The office envelope gimmick has been running since the first MacBook Air reveal in 2008. Steve Jobs pulled out the MacBook Air from a similar envelope at the reveal.

The photos show off the aluminum body and super-thin bezels. We can also see dual speaker grilles under the body, which means stereo speakers will be on board. This is clearly a Windows laptop, and given realme’s pricing history, we can expect it to be priced competitively.
The big difference here seems to be the 3:2 aspect ratio screen. The company is likely to market this screen aspect ratio as the key selling point for this laptop, in addition to the slim bezels. USB-C charging could also be present in the realme Book, although we don’t have a solid confirmation on that yet. The features are also likely to vary according to the configuration variants realme releases.
Bonus leak: realme Pad tablet
We unfortunately didn’t get any photos of realme’s upcoming tablet. However, the shot above presumably means we can also expect it to be announced during the realme GT 5G global launch next week. What little we can glean from the photo includes a squared-off design, a camera or two on the back, and what looks to be a metal build.
BBK’s realme has a strong presence in India, among other markets like China, other parts of Southeast Asia, and Europe. It’s unlikely this laptop or tablet will ever hit US shores. However, we know BBK replicates its products under its different sub-brands. So, we might just get a OnePlus laptop or a vivo tablet someday.
The exact date of the laptop and tablet’s release are not known yet but the photos were clearly taken at the location of the realme GT 5G launch which is scheduled for June 15 at 1 pm UTC+1 – if you want to watch that event live you can do so on Realme’s YouTube channel.
