Bowling by Jason Belmonte
Price: Free to play
Bowling by Jason Belmonte is one of several decent freemium arcade bowling games. There is a lot to like about this one. It features a good frame rate, good graphics, and realistic mechanics. The game also includes online multiplayer, an RPG style progression system, and some options when it comes to throwing style. It is a freemium game, though. Thus, there this a pay-to-win element for the online portion of it. However, those that don’t care about that kind of stuff should enjoy this one quite a bit. It’s a good time killer.
Bowling King
Price: Free to play
Bowling King is the most popular bowling game on mobile. It features over 60 balls, tons of lane themes, and colorful graphics. The mechanics and controls aren’t half bad either. Some of the features include online multiplayer, online tournaments, a challenge mode, mini-games, achievements, and more. There is even support for about a dozen languages. There is also a web version if you want to play on your computer. It’s a freemium game and that’s not great. However, everything else about this one is pretty good.
Galaxy Bowling 3D
Price: Free / Up to $4.99
Galaxy Bowling 3D escaped our notice because the premium version hadn’t received an update since 2016 while the free version of the app is still actively updated. This is one of the better bowling games. It has decent physics, easy controls, above average graphics, and plenty to do. You can do standard ten-pin bowling, a 100-pin challenge, and even a variant of shuffleboard. There is a bunch of gear to unlock and upgrade. Of course, now we’re getting into the free to play elements. However, most of its players don’t seem to mind. Galaxy Bowling is also a good choice for Google Play Pass subscribers since this one is free to play with that service.
PBA Bowling Challenge
Price: Free to play
PBA Bowling Challenge is a decent arcade bowling game. It features a ton of pin, lane, and bowling ball themes. That adds a bit of flair. Additionally, you get power-ups, 100s of balls to collect, and leaderboards and achievements. There are also good graphics and real PBA bowlers to play with and compete against. It is a freemium game. It’s mostly for power-ups and the energy system. The energy system in this game is really not great. The pros outweigh the cons, though. We might recommend Bowling King first, but this one is still decent.
Strike Master Bowling
Price: Free / Up to $9.99
Strike Master Bowling is one of the more outrageous bowling games. It comes complete with colorful graphics, simple controls, and some customization features. You also get online multiplayer, skill shot challenges, various tournaments, and four game modes. It’s a simple game without a ton of depth. However, this is one of the better bowling games for killing a few minutes. It has some bugs here and there, but thankfully nothing too serious. The online play is also a bit messy. Strike Master Bowling is also available as part of Google Play Pass.
